Thanks Germany!

Thanks Germany!

I recent security 'fix' from Microsoft prevent any Dell 1700 laser printer (kind of popular) from being used across a network.

I have been searching for weeks to find a fix. Dell said it was a MS problem (and I agree), but MS claimed it was a Dell driver issue. I finally found a German tech support forum that was covering this (now apparently global) problem. This is a screen capture of the forum.

I used the 'translate this page' in Google and was able to find an unoffical patch from Dell. It seems to have done the trick. Oddly, this patch is listed nowhere on the Dell site, and could only be downloaded via a direct FTP link.

Achtung, Baby!
